Summer 2024 Dates and Deadlines

The summer term is split into four parts-of-term: full summer, maymester, summer I and summer II. Review the dates and deadlines carefully for the parts-of-term for which you are registered.

This schedule is tentative and dates are subject to change.

Key dates

  • Course registration: April 1 to July 9
  • First billing statement: April 12
  • Payment plans: available April 12
    • You must have a $0 prior balance.
  • Short-term loans: available April 29
    • You must have a $0 prior balance.
  • Payment on current amounts due:
    • Full Summer payment: due May 9
      • Your amount due will include all enrolled parts-of-term.
    • Maymester payment: due May 9
      • Your amount due will include all enrolled parts-of-term.
    • Summer I payment: due May 30
      • Your amount due will include the Summer II part-of-term, if enrolled.
    • Summer II payment: due July 3

Important: If you're enrolled in more than one summer part-of-term, your amount due must be paid by the due date of the earliest part-of-term for which you're enrolled. For example, if you're enrolled in Maymester and Summer I classes, the payment for both parts-of-term is due May 9.

Full Summer: May 13 - Aug. 7

April 1
  • Early registration begins.
April 12
  • First billing statements for all summer parts-of-term are emailed to your mySFA email account. These emails are generated thereafter on a weekly basis.
  • Payment plans: If you have a $0 prior balance, you may enroll in the Early Summer - 4 Monthly Installment Payment Plan or Summer - 4 Installment Payment Plan to pay your amount due in four installments.
    • First payment is due before financial aid is posted to student accounts.
April 25
  • Past-due balances due to avoid being dropped from summer courses.
  • Early Summer - 4 Monthly Installment Payment Plan: First installment is due if you enrolled in this option.
    • $25 Late Installment Fee charged if installment is not paid by this deadline.
April 26
  • Noon drop for past-due balance. Any unpaid balance amounting $200 or more will result in your being dropped from all of your registered courses.
April 29
  • Short-term loans begin. You must have a $0 prior balance. Visit the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship's Loans webpage for more information.
May 9
  • Summer - 4 Installment Payment Plan
    • Last day to enroll in this plan.
    • First installment is due if you enrolled in this option.
    • $25 Late Installment Fee charged if installment is not paid by this deadline.
  • Amount due will include other enrolled summer parts-of-term. This must be paid through one of the following options:
    • make payment in full
    • make installment through payment plan, if you enrolled in this option
    • or apply for a short-term loan.

  • Noon drop for nonpayment for all summer classes.
  • Deadline to withdraw with 100% refund.
May 13
  • Full Summer begins.
  • Repayment plans and short-term loans charged back to student accounts.

  • Financial aid posted to student accounts.
May 29
  • 5 p.m. deadline to drop with 100% refund. You must remain enrolled (cannot drop to zero hours) to be eligible for a refund on a dropped course.

  • Late Add Fee begins. You'll be charged $50 per credit hour and may add classes only upon approval from the course instructor, department chair and the academic dean.
  • Second installment is due if you're enrolled in one of the following payment plans:

Dropped course refund schedule

A student dropping one or more classes but remaining enrolled (taking more than zero hours) is eligible for a 100% refund of tuition and certain fees according to the following schedules:

  • Full Summer: On or before 5 p.m. May 29
  • Maymester: On or before 5 p.m. May 14
  • Summer I: On or before 5 p.m. June 4
  • Summer II: On or before 5 p.m. July 9

Refund dates for withdrawal or dropped courses may be modified at any time without prior notice in order to comply with state and federal guidelines.
